pastel wedding inspiration

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

So here is some more yummy wedding inspiration for you all. This has to be one of my favourite styles, although I feel like I say that for every one! I’ve always loved pastel colours, to be honest who doesn’t … and they are perfect as summer wedding colours. The best way to present pastels is in a sort of vintage and shabby chic way; the colours compliment this style nicely.

The first image shown below is so so so simple and so so so lovely. It’s just a tin bucket full of subtle pink flowers, teamed with a mint green distressed chair and finally, a little message. This would be fairly cheap to put together and looks great, a double bonus.

I think one of my favourite things about the pastel shades is the flowers. There are hundreds of different ways to produce a bouquet, and I’ll be honest a lot of the time I’m not a big fan of the way bouquets can look. They are usually quite generic and a bit boring, but in pastel tones I LOVE them. It’s strange really, but they just seem to look so much more unique and special. I also love the pink fern like flower below, such a lovely little touch. Having jars with a few flowers in is very in at the moment, and the pastel jars with dainty pastel flowers are very cute.

Maybe the BEST thing about a pastel wedding is the cake. Again, I find cakes can look very mainstream and sometimes quite ugly. The tradition is to have a white cake with lots of flowers and ribbon – not my thing! I’ll do a post on some cakes I’m loving this wedding season soon, and pastel cakes are definitely up there with my favourite. The ombre effect below is amazing, and I love the simplicity of the cake. The macaroon cake is on a whole other level of amazingness!! Unfortunately for me I can’t stand macaroons so I would never have this at my own wedding, but for any of you macaroon fans out there, why not.

Lastly, I have to mention the amazing glass bottles filled with mint green drink and a straw. I have no idea what the drink is, but I’d happily drink green water if it looked like that!

Check out my Pinterest for more pastel inspiration and loads of other wedding inspiration. I am helping my sister on a big project for her wedding over the next few weeks so watch this space.
