Last minute sorting!!

It's the week before the show and we have a lot of things to sort out - goodie bags, models, dressers, front of house, guest lists, and so much more.

The goodie bags for the show were purchased from ebay as this was the cheapest way for us to buy them. We wanted to put the logo for the fashion show on the goodie bags, however to get this done professional would've been very expensive. Therefore we chose to add the logos ourself to reduce costs. This week I sat and cut out 75 logos and stuck them to the goodie bags using double sided tape. It took an extremely long time to do, but overall I think the outcome is worth it. The bags are much more personalised with the logo on, and look very professional. Now we just need to add the items that our sponsors have given to us and the promotional booklet that is being printed this week and they will be ready to take to the venue on Friday!

Unfortunately Third Floor magazine will not be printed in time for the show, which is upsetting as we were looking forward to showing off the amazing work some of the fashion students have done. We were also excited to have a magazine in the goodie bags as it would have bulked them out a lot more. Therefore today I took a trip into the university to see if there were any other publications I could put in the goodie bags, and I had success! Southampton Solent went to Graduate Fashion Week this weekend and took along some Fashion School booklets. The marketing team had a lot of spares which they were able to give me - and on top of this I was also given copies of another fashion magazine 'Anon'. This magazine has been created by the Fashion Styling and Fashion Hair and Make Up students, and I was delighted to be given copies of this as well!

Another essential part of the fashion show is the guest list! There is a VIP guest list and a standard guest list - the VIPs received invites through email and the other guests purchased their tickets through eventbrite. A guest list will be written up for both the VIPs and the other guests in alphabetical order to make the front of house helpers job that bit easier. Three of the helpers will be given a clipboard each to check of peoples names when the enter the theatre for the show and the other helpers will be welcoming guests and showing them to their seats.

Possibly one of the most important parts of the fashion show is the models! Without the models we would have no show, and this week it has been our job to finalise running orders and create the dressers sheet for each model. Everything needs to be sorted for the day so that the models and dressers know what everyone will be wearing! It has been hard work communicating with 36 different models, but slowly everything is coming together nicely and now we are just very excited for the show on Saturday!!!
