On saturday we arrived at The Point in the morning to sort out any last minute preparations. Throughout the day other events were taking place before our rehearsal at 3:30pm and our final event at 7pm. This made it even more challenging for us to manage our team and make sure everything was ready for the evening show. At 12:30 our team of dressers, models, make up artists, photographers and film crew arrived all firing questions at myself and Gemma. For a minute I thought, why am I doing this? However, the buzz of adrenaline took over and both Gemma and I took control of our large team. The dressers were teamed up with their models and taken to their rails to start trying on all the clothing - if anything didn't fit the designers were informed and they had the opportunity to make any necessary changes to their collections. The make up artists were sent up groups of models to prepare for the runway. They had two different looks to complete and all managed to work at a fast pace to make every single model look catwalk ready. The photographers took every opportunity they could to get some shots from the day. They photographed the make up girls in action and took some shots from the backstage area. They then shot the amazing collections on the catwalk in the evening show. The film crew set up all the cameras ready to stream the evening show live and interviewed some of the designers to use in the interval.
During the rehearsal we walked the models through their choreography and gave the dressers a chance to practice, as well as making sure the presentation in the background worked perfectly. It was great to have the time to practice as it meant that everyone was completely prepared for the evening show and everything ran very smoothly.
Guests flooded into the venue at 6:30pm ready to be seated for the show. Some people tried to get a seat to watch the show that day, however we were sold out and had no spaces left for anyone else. The theatre was packed with 250 guests! Everyone was excited to see the 29 collections produced by the design student. Due to a few last minute make up touches and some late guests we started 15 minutes late, however this did not dampen anyones spirits int he audience. The show started and everything looked amazing - it was everything we had hoped it would be. The white catwalk and backdrop looked clean and professional, and the models had learnt their choreography perfectly. All the hair and make up looked immaculate and the music from the incredible DJ Paul Ward was brilliant. The show couldn't have gone much better and we are ecstatic with the way it turned out. We received great feedback from the audience and everyone we worked with. Some of the models said it was the best show they have worked on, which is a huge compliment considering a lot of them are regulars at London Fashion Week and have worked all over Europe. One of the biggest shocks has been the amount of people that watched the live stream and have viewed the video after. On the night we had 250 guests in the venue and 300 people watching the live stream!! We couldn't believe the outcome, and now there has been over 1200 people watch the video. The show was a huge success and we couldn't be happier.
