Today has been a very very good day. I am hoping to start up my own business in the very near future, with a focus on wedding stationary to begin with. My dream is to become a wedding planner, but I am starting off smaller with just doing stationary. It only hit me during my degree what I wanted to do with my life and my love of graphic design became stronger over time. I've had a Macbook Pro throughout my degree, and use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for all my work. For my business I felt I would need a bigger screen (especially as I will be doing all design work) and I wanted to have a computer somewhere where I could go and sit on my own and focus on my work. So, I saved and saved and ... saved. And today I opened my brand new iMac. Possibly the best day ever - which is sad, but anybody who loves Apple products and any fellow Graphic designers will completely understand my uncontrollable excitement at having one of these beauties as my own. I got the 27 inch screen and I have to say it is absolutely huge. There is no way I will miss any detail on this screen.
Of course I had to finish everything off properly so I bought a lovely white desk and chair, which I built today and this is now my official office. Technically it's my bedroom, but it means I can take myself upstairs in the evenings and work on building my brand. Now all I want to do is sit up there and get designing - and that I will. Keep a look out over the next few months for new designs I'll be coming up with to build my stationary portfolio - exciting times!
